The Link to Prevention, Season 1, Episode 12: In this episode, the KCSARC prevention team is back together and sits down to discuss the topic of online spaces. The prevention team outlines how they incorporate lessons about online safety, boundaries, and para-social relationships into their middle school curriculum. They name some of the reactions from students when sharing their own boundaries and give some helpful tips to start conversations with your own kid about online spaces.

Questions for parents to ask their kids:

– What do you like to do online?

– What do you spend the most time doing online?

– What apps do you use? What are your favorite?

– What’s your favorite emoji?

– What is something that adults don’t understand about social media?

– Have you made friends online? Anyone you only know online?

– What don’t you like about social media?

– Is there anyone you really enjoy following? Why?
